Hatha Yoga

Welcome to my page which hopefully provides a little more insight into what to expect from a Hatha class. When teaching a class I offer a 60-minute Hatha Yoga class that is designed to help you improve your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. However, if you are interested in a one-on-one class or small group booking then the length of the lesson can be altered.  If you're new to yoga or have never tried Hatha Yoga before, you might be wondering what to expect from a typical clas

Firstly, Hatha Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that focuses on physical postures, also known as asanas. This class is suitable for all levels, including beginners, and I will guide you through each pose, explaining the correct alignment and offering modifications if needed.

The class begins with a short centring practice, which involves focusing your attention on your breath and setting an intention for your practice. This helps to calm your mind and prepare you for the physical practice ahead.

The physical practice is made up of a series of asanas that are designed to stretch and strengthen your body. Each pose is held for a few breaths before moving on to the next one. You'll be encouraged to listen to your body and work at your own pace, taking breaks when needed.

Throughout the class, I will remind you to breathe deeply and mindfully, which helps to oxygenate your body and calm your mind. This can be especially helpful for reducing stress and anxiety.

Towards the end of the class, you'll be guided through a short relaxation practice, which allows your body and mind to fully unwind and release any tension. This may include a guided meditation or visualisation practice. Typically this will be done in savasana, also known as corpse pose, where you'll lie on your back and simply relax. This is a time to integrate the benefits of your practice and feel a sense of deep relaxation.

Overall, my 60-minute Hatha Yoga class is a wonderful way to improve your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Whether you're looking to reduce stress, increase flexibility, or simply enjoy a gentle workout, our class is the perfect place to start.
